Miriam Raspe - Assistant Conductor

Miriam Raspe, born in 1993, grew up in Düsseldorf, Germany, and received tuition in piano, trombone, and euphonium.

She studied trombone in Trossingen with Prof. Abbie Conant and wind band conducting with Stefan Halder.
From 2014 till 2021 she was a German Academic Scholarship Foundation scholar.
She won third prize as well as the special award at the 2016 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory Competition.
In 2016 she also began a master's course in trombone with Prof. Werner Schrietter in Karlsruhe.

Since 2017 Miriam Raspe has been a member of the Young German Philharmonic. In the same year she was appointed as teaching assistant for wind band conducting at the University of Music in Trossingen. She completed her master's course in 2018 and afterwards started a master's course in wind band conducting at the University of Music in Trossingen, graduating in spring 2021.

Miriam Raspe is engaged regularly as a substitute by the state police band of Baden-Württemberg and various regional ensembles. She has worked as a low brass teacher in the region around Trossingen since 2012 and was involved in various band class projects in Villingen-Schwenningen. Since 2015 she has conducted various amateur wind bands in and around Trossingen.
In December 2020 she was appointed instructor for low brass at the music school in Herrenberg and received a permanent position as conductor of the municipal band of Herrenberg in September 2021.
